Dr. Peter Toebak has been a consultant in Switzerland since 1996. In January 2000 he founded a company called “Toebak Dokumenten Management & Archivierung GmbH”. He is currently a senior business consultant with Sispace AG in the area of records management.

Peter Toebak has led an wide variety of projects in the area of records management and archiving in Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. He developed corporate policies, multiple as-is/to-be analysis’s , classifications, a macro assessment model for finance and accounting, selection and development of software products, mapping of meta data and archive inventory.

He lectures in Geneva (HEG), Lausanne (UNIL) and Berne (UNIB). He has published multiple archival- and information sciences papers. In 2007 he published the “Handbuch für Records Management” (Baden, 2007).

Dr. Peter M. Toebak is one of the leading experts and consultants in the area of document- and records management in Switzerland. He is lecturer at the University of Berne and at the University of Applied Sciences in Geneva. In addition, he is the author of a manual which has played more than a small role for Sispace:

In his last function he was member of the leadership team of Group Information Governance at Novartis International AG Basel. He is also an expert in Knowledge Management and Social Media . Since 2011 President of the Swiss Chapter of ARMA International, the US-american association of Records Management Professionals. Member of the working group Records Management & Digital Archiving of the Swiss Association of Archivists (VSA/SAA). He is also an AIIM "Certified Information Professional" (2012).
